Read Psalms 68:33-35 slowly, then read the surrounding chapter. Attend to the poetry and its setting. A lament gives voice to suffering; a proverb teaches wisdom rather than a mechanical guarantee; quoted human speech should be weighed in the whole book.
Attend especially to Psalms 68:34: “Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.”
Observe: Who is speaking or acting, and what changes across these verses? Identify a word, action or contrast in Psalms 68:33-35 that helps you explain the passage in your own words.
Reflect: What response to difficulty is encouraged here, and what shortcuts does it rule out? Ground your answer in Psalms 68:34 and its surrounding verses. If the connection to this month’s theme is indirect, let the passage’s own meaning lead.
Respond: Face one postponed responsibility prayerfully, without retaliating or giving in to fear. Write one sentence explaining how your response follows from Psalms 68:33-35, and return to it this evening.
